Makoto Shinkai selects Nanoka Hara as the voice of Suzume

Yesterday, Makoto Shinkai finally selected Nanoka Hara as the voice of the heroine in his new film called Suzume no tojimari after she vied for the role with over 1,700 other applicants in auditions, and this will be her first voice-acting role in anime.

Hara remarked that even now, she cannot shake the feeling that this could all be a dream. She said that the first time she saw a Shinkai film in a theater, during the summer of her first year in middle school, was unforgettable.

''Suzume no Tojimari'' is coming soon to Japanese cinemas this November.
