My review of Elementary OS 5.0 Juno, as someone who has used it for over 3 years.
Elementary OS is sleek, stylish, and simple with a Ubuntu Linux base, but it's not just Ubuntu made to look like Mac OS.
The Elementary Team creates the Pantheon desktop, The Elementary AppCenter, and includes a suite of custom applications.
AppCenter features over a hundred apps from third party developers, created just for Elementary.
Elementary and AppCenter provide developers a way to publish their work with an asking price.
AppCenter provides a payment system so users can pay any amount they wish for the applications or install them for free.
All of the software is 100% free and open-source.
