- I don't normally like this guy... But he's asking questions that nobody else in the media are asking..
Andrew Bolt from 16th April 2020 -
Sky News host Andrew Bolt says the current "police state" facing Australia has led to depression, loneliness, suicide and unemployment which was caused "not because of the virus but because of the government's reaction".
My Bolt said Prime Minister Scott Morrison's Thursday announcement, addressing when strict social distancing measures may be lifted in the country, didn't really answer "the real questions".
During the announcement, Mr Morrison had said there are “no plans” to change the current lockdown measures for at least another four weeks.
Speaking about the update in Canberra, he said restrictions would only be eased if Australia met three key conditions: increased testing, better contact tracing, and the ability to lock down localised areas in cases of outbreaks.
"Is the prime minister serious?" Mr Bolt said.
"We just had yet another day of fewer than 50 new coronavirus infections".
"We had another day where the number of people who got better was much higher than number getting sick".
He said the lack of clear government answers and the continual imposition of strict measures are "now too much, the cost of it is too high".
"The curve the government said we had to flatten is now flat, flat as a pancake".
