You may not think shooting someone in the back is fair, or moral and any good cop who cares about themselves and their family don’t give a damn what you think, because they know what’s legal and what’s right. We don’t fight fair... Police work is not a sport. There are no 10 yard penalties. No Ref will step in and call a foul once the suspect picks up a gun or knife. This is life or death. Once the suspect chooses to resist arrest they open themselves up to the interpretation of the Officers involved. Officers have to make split second decisions and ask “Is this person going to kill me?” And act accordingly. Your time to resist is not in the streets it’s in a courthouse.
Laws are the collective morality of a society. If you do not like how the US makes laws. You do not burn the US down. You vote or you leave.
I just want to point out the suspect was punched, thrown, tased and still was able to arm himself and engage Officers.
In a perfect world these Officers would have implemented more grappling techniques and had more control of the suspect before attempting to apply cuffs.
But this isn’t a perfect world and you are only as good as your training. They did a great job staying in the fight.

Suspect was captured and sentenced to 110 years
Officers survived.
