The story takes place in the Caribbean. A young man called Guybrush Threepwood wants to become a pirate. He seeks out pirates on an island called Melee Island. The leaders of the local pirates give him three trials he has to fulfill. Yet, Guybrush's trouble do not end there, since he finds out there is a grim ghost pirate called LeCuck who terrorizes the pirates.
