The Court of Appeal of Quebec just rendered its decision on the appeal of the Quebec Human Rights Tribunal’s judgment relating to Mike Ward. Under that judgment, the QHRT ordered Mike Ward to pay $35,000 to Jeremie Gabriel for a standup but he did that poked fun at Jeremie (in particular as relates to his handicap). The Court of Appeal affirmed the Tribunal’s judgment, with a very interesting dissenting opinion by Jusrtice Manon Savard.
