Osiris (1993, PC)

Osiris a boardgame-like strategy game by Austrian developer Pixlers Entertainment. It was also released for the Amiga. The story is that three Pharaohs get into an argument after their death of who had been the best leader during their lifetime. They ask Osiris, the god of the dead and the underworld to settle the dispute, but rejects their claim. Instead, he tells them to compete in a boardgame to solve the matter. You play said boardgame as one of the Pharaohs. The other two Pharaohs can be played by either the computer or other human players, but you are restricted to the simplest, standard board in multiplayer mode.
The game takes place on a triangular shaped board with triangular fields and equally shaped pieces to play. Each player starts in one of the corners. Each round, you move one of your pieces. Each piece can be moved up to four fields a turn. Each stone has an energy budget, which is depleted for each field you move it. A piece without energy turns into a neutral, immovable obstacle. If two pieces of the same colour become adjacent to an opponent's piece, the latter is destroyed. However, this does not happen when a piece is moved to field neighbouring two opponent pieces of the same colour. A piece which has turned into a neutral obstacle can by destroyed by placing pieces of the same colour to all of its three sides. Each player starts with a score, and the player with the highest at the end of the game is the winner. A player looses points when he looses playing pieces. Points can be gained by destroying opponents' pieces or placing pieces in the burial chamber. The letter is the field in the centre of the board. A player who moves piece to this field will skip three turns, giving his opponents time to try to destroy the piece in the chamber. If the piece survives the three rounds, the player gets a huge amount of points and the piece is removed.
