There are reports of potentially multiple deaths following several stabbings inside a shopping centre in Sydney's east.
A critical incident is unfolding inside Westfield Bondi Junction where police were called just before 4pm, after reports of several people being stabbed.
NSW Ambulance says seven people have been taken to hospital with stab wounds, including a nine-month-old baby.
The baby has been taken to Sydney's Children's Hospital, with the other victims at multiple hospitals.
A spokesperson for NSW Ambulance says there were two alleged offenders and one has been fatally shot.
Police are hunting for the second alleged offender.
Aerial footage from outside the complex shows a large number of emergency vehicles and personnel.\NSW Ambulance confirmed that they have transported seven trauma patients to hospital, including one nine-month-old baby.
“Two have gone to St Vincents, one baby has gone to Sydney children’s, one has gone to St George, one has gone to Royal North shore, two have gone to RPA," a spokesperson said.
One witness outside told the ABC they saw a baby with a stab wound. Two brothers said they rushed to help a bleeding woman and baby inside. “We got them into the store ... rang for help,” one of the men told Nine News. They said both had been stabbed and tried to stem their bleeding with garments from the store.
