The inhabitants of a house go outside for a while. A bunch of vermin take the chance and invade the house. Two cacti decide to bring an end to this and leave their pots to kick the vermin out.
Saboten Bombers is a game similar to Bubble Bobble, Snow Bros. or Nightmare in the Dark. The game is divided into stages. Each stage consists of a single static screen with platforms. You need to defeat all enemies on screen. You can jump and throw bombs. Bombs will bounce off of surface and explode after a while. A thrown bomb will sweep along every character, both enemies and player characters. You can press jump to jump away from a bomb. You only get harmed, i.e. loose a life, if you get hit by an explosion of a bomb. Some enemies also throw bombs. These bounce higher, which can use to reach high platforms. Bombs also alter their velocity if they collide.
Defeated enemies will leave behind items. Most them only yield points. Flowers will make your character move faster, while an hour glass gives you more time(There is a time limit. If the timer is zero, you can still continue, but the screen will be littered with bombs until you either complete the stage or loose a life). A piece of gateau can be collected. Once you have enough to form a complete gateau, you get an extra life and the current stage is complete immediately. A diamond ring will destroy all enemies on screen. This even holds for bosses. If you loose a life in a normal, a diamond is dropped. If you use a continue during a boss fight, a ring is dopped, as well.
The game can be played in 2-player co-op.
