Crime City (1989, Arcade)

Crime City (not to be confused with the 1992 home computer game) is a shoot'em up, platformer and run'n'gun developed and published by Taito. It was only released in the arcades.

The game is about two Lethal Weapon type cops who take on various severe crime cases.

The game plays like a striped-down version of Rolling Thunder and Shinobi. While you can also jump very high in addition to normal jumps, there is no leap up and down from platforms. You walk through the level and shoot everything coming at you. Your ammo is limited, but enemies will drop weapons with ammo. Apart from you standard gun, you also have single grenades, shotguns or machine guns. You have a health bar, which goes down if you collide with enemies and objects, or get punched. If you are out of health, you loose a life. If you get hit by bullets, grenades or molotow cocktails, you die immediately. You can regain health if you pick up a bottle. There is also time limit and an item which gives you additional time.
