Lando shows Han over to a dining room where he reluctantly reveals that the Empire has beaten him here as Vader is seen sitting at a table. Han tries to shoot Vader, but it's useless, they're quickly surrounded. Lando is forced to hand the group over to the Empire and Han Solo is to be placed in frozen carbonite. Leia admits her love for him and Chewie growls in anguish over the fate of his best friend. Han is then given to Fett who intends to collect his bounty from Jabba the Hutt. This was not part of the deal Lando made with Vader, but Vader has altered the deal and might alter it even further. Realizing his terrible mistake, Lando alerts the Cloud City population about the Empire's occupation and frees Leia and Chewbacca, but they are too late to stop Fett's departure. Also, C-3PO got torn apart by Ugnaughts so they have to put him back together too. The group fights their way back to the Falcon and flees the city. Meanwhile, Luke reaches out through the Force to Leia, and the Falcon returns to rescue him. The group is pursued by TIE fighters and almost cornered by Vader on his Star Destroyer until R2-D2 repairs the Falcon's hyperdrive, allowing them to escape. Aboard the Rebel fleet, Luke's hand is replaced with a robotic prosthesis. He, Leia, C-3PO, and R2-D2 observe as Lando and Chewbacca depart on the Falcon to find Han.
