Edit for headphones, May 2022. A song of the 1974 album "Unconditionally Guaranteed".
I like this album, in spite of it later being rejected by Captain Beefheart (calling it "horrible and vulgar") and his Magic Band members ("As we listened, it was as though each song was worse than the one which preceded it."). I think there were other issues than music that caused their dislike... maybe a lost love? And commercial disappointment?
Personnel on the album:
Captain Beefheart (Don Van Vliet) – vocals, harmonica
Alex St. Clair – guitar
Zoot Horn Rollo (Bill Harkleroad) – guitar, glass finger guitar
Rockette Morton (Mark Boston) – bass
Art Tripp – drums, percussion
Additional personnel:
Mark Marcellino – keyboards
Andy DiMartino – acoustic guitar
Del Simmons – tenor saxophone, flute
LAZY MUSIC
(Don and Jan Van Vliet/Andy Di Martino)
lazy music's got me laying back and laying down
lazy music's got me lovin while the clock goes round and round
usually happens in the evening when the blossoms are falling down
lazy music's got me laying back and laying down
lazy music's got me laying back and laying down
it's slow like love makes the whole thing keep going 'round and 'round
usually happens in the evening when the moon comes shining down
lazy musics got me laying back and laying down
meet me baby where the moon shines in the water upside down
where everything's slow like love
and everything keeps going 'round and 'round
usually happens in the evening when the blossoms are falling down
lazy music has us laying back and laying down
lazy music has us laying back and laying down
oh lazy music, has us laying back and laying down
oh lazy music, has us laying back and laying down
lazy music, has us laying back and laying down
