Err… Bill Gates does WHAT now?! This is A BIG PROBLEM!
Bill Gates has his grubby little fingers in every slice of life. He’s writing off all these “donations” so he doesn’t have to pay taxes. It’s a win/win. He “gives” money for influence. In effect, he has direct control where his huge tax (write off) dollars go.
As a new article reveals the levels of influence Bill Gates has within media - which he has bankrolled to the tune of millions of dollars – we ask, is Bill Gates’s image all a creation of his own making? I think the single most effective way of solving a large portion of problems with modern society would be to disassociate wealth from power entirely. As long as Money=Power we will always continue to have these issues. That's why there is media silence on his behaviour during the Epstein interview.
Bravo. It's refreshing to see people with enough integrity to focus on this issue. His $30 million to Cornell research on the benefits of Monsanto to Africa was eye opening to me, confirming exactly this. Not only could they manipulate science like tobacco companies did, but they could also give grant money to African nations that stipulated they would buy their own interests (which coincided with more suffering than nations that refused their money).
So the question now is: How do we stop the rich from infiltrating so many organizations and controlling the outcome which is not in our best interests? We could stop supporting all the organizations, but that won't work because there are too many people that will continue to support such actions because it puts money into their own personal bank accounts. What do you think?
What kind of a world do we want? Open and accountable or closed and secretive? Anyone person or corporation wielding lots of power should be subject to public scrutiny and accountability. Some privacy is important but it becomes less so beyond a certain amount of influence. If we want a better system for managing our health, education and economies we must deal with this problem.
Once again Russell, well done. An unlikely hero, if you pardon my saying.
