UNIT Aspire To A Spire On Fire

First recorded for the 1996 album Kämpfbereit, this new rendition is how it should have sounded. This is the ‘rough mix’. The proper production can be heard on our album Der Zeit Ihre Kunst, available on our Band Camp site from September 2019.

The holy bible is just libel
written by men who lust for power.
The minister, rather sinister,
he locks choirboys in his tower.
The good Pope? Not a hope!
He’s a traitor to all people.
Here’s the Dean; but where’s he been?
Sitting in drag upon his steeple!
The high priest? Not in the least.
A lower life form doesn’t exist.
The pious nun? Pull the other one.
She’s a whore the choirboy kissed.
The local vicar? There’s no-one sicker,
making money from guilt and fear.
The holy trinity has no divinity;
it even hates you if you’re queer.
The holy church? You search,
but all you find are thieves and liars.
Christianity is insanity –
let us cleanse it with our fires!
Remember what the church said it would do
to the last free man on Earth: ‘Aisle altar hymn!’
