Dr. Claus Nordbruch: 13 February 1945 - 22 o'clock - Dresden had 600,000 inhabitants and 500,000 German refugees from the East Bloc countries in the city - 1,100,000 people, almost all women, children and elderly people. 400,000 lose their lives within a few hours in the most terrible pain, burning alive, screaming in agony. On March 22, 1945, 200,000 dead were counted. The others were under the rubble.
First, the RAF dropped explosive bombs on the inner city. Immediately thereafter 570,000 fire bombs and 4,5000 flame streaming bombs. After about 2.5 hours they returned, on February 14 at about 1:30 a.m. with the second wave of 4,500 explosive bombs.
The Eastbloc refugees who had fled from the city centre were then attacked by the 8th U.S. Air Force. At 12:15 pm, more than 760 planes dropped 50,000 fire bombs over these refugees.
Then came the approx. 200 fighter bombers who massacred the civilian population with machine guns.

Dr. Claus Nordbruch: 13 Februar 1945 - 22 Uhr - Dresden hatte 600,000 Einwohner und 500,000 Deutsche Fluechtlinge von den Ost Bloc Laendern in der Stadt - 1,100,000 Menschen, fast alles Frauen, Kinder und aeltere Menschen. 400,000 verlieren ihr Leben innerhalb von ein paar Stunden in den aller furchtbarsten Schmerzen, lebend brennend, schreiend in Qual. Am 22. Maerz 1945 wurden 200,000 Tote gezaehlt. Die anderen waren unter den Truemmern.
Zuerst warf die RAF Sprengbomben auf die Innenstadt. Unmittelbar danach 570,000 Stabbrand und 4,5000 Flammenstrahlbomben. Nach ca. 2.5 Stundenkamen sie zurueck, am 14. Februar gegen 1:30 Uhr mit der zweiten Bombenwelle von 4.500 Sprengbomben.
Die von der Innenstadt gefluechteten und die Osbloc Fluechtlinge auf den Wiesen wurden dann von der 8. U.S. Luftwaffe angegriffen. Um 12:15 Uhr warfen mehr als 760 Maschinen unter anderem 50,000 Stabbrandbomben ueber dise Fluechtlinge ab.
Danach kamen die ca. 200 Jagdbomber die im Tieffliegerangriff mit Maschinengewehre die Zivilbevoelkerung niedermetzelnden.
Und dafuer wurde keiner von ihnen zur Rechenschaft gezogen. - Dr. Claus Nordbruch -
