Sabaton - Saboteurs (English Lyrics)

When Germany occupied Norway in 1940, they took possession of a number of heavy water plants that created Deuterium oxide, one of the ingredients the Germans were using on their nuclear weapons program. To counter this, members of the Norwegian resistance were recruited by the British special operations executive (SOE) To sabotage the plant. They were parachuted in and skied to the plant but their positions were given away by the crash of British reinforcement planes. The Norwegians were forced to hide out in the wilderness, surviving on lichen and moss until more reinforcements could be paradropped in. The raid eventually was a success when the Norwegian saboteurs detonated a bomb inside the electrolysis chambers, destroying all German heavy water production. All 5 raiders escaped without being caught.
