The king of the country of Alkanien is gravely ill, because he has been poisoned by his stepson. The king has no sons of his own, but his stepson could not wait for the king to pass away. However, there might be a thing to cure the king, which is the Lapis Philosophorum. The player takes the role of a former alchemist who is given the task of searching for the Philosophers' Stone.
