A treatise on extant references to Jesus Christ in the Talmud (that is, the whole of the rabbinical literature which comprises Jewish orthodoxy). Deconstructs the unflattering counter-narratives devised by the rabbis in order to profane the legacy of Yeshua the Christ ('The Nazarene'), whom they regard as foremost among the heretics proceeding from their religious tradition.

The book includes a section in which rabbinical authorities claim responsibility for the execution of Christ and assert that they were justified (and morally irreproachable) in so doing. Published in 2013 by Princeton University Press, with additional bibliography (particularly on the Toledot Yeshu) added by Dr. Peter Schafer in a subsequent printing.
