In 15th-century Italy, the cunning Caterina Sforza ruthlessly defended her family's fortunes at any cost.
When enemies laid siege to her fortress, captured her children and threatened to slit their throats, she stood on the walls of Imola and lifted her skirts, calling out to them to do it, because she could always make more children.
Sforza had already outlived a father and a husband who died at the hands of an assassin. She witnessed the brutal murders of her lover, and when enemies threatened her power, Caterina rode into battle, 7 months pregnant.
In the final years of her life, she confided to a monk:
"If I could write everything that happened, I would shock the world”.
This is the life of the incredible Caterina Sforza!
