When the machines were tested they generated $325,000 in fines ($50 initial fine) within the first 45 minutes! That amounts to tens of millions of dollars per day in a new tax/fee on the “middle class” of Long Island and New York City (accounting for non-initial fines which will likely be $100-$300, or greater for high accruals of violations/offenses). Nassau County is already the most, and long-running, tax/fee-burdened county in the United States.

Kathy Hocul’s plan for the urbanization (see L.I.R.R. and affordable housing plans) of Nassau County to eventually make it the 6th borough of N.Y.C. in order to utterly annihilate its conservative/Republican land-locked (surrounded by liberal/Democratic) stronghold as the only red county in southern N.Y.
