Piano Sonata No. 6 in F major, Op. 10, No. 2 by Ludwig van Beethoven
Beethoven completed this piano sonata in 1798 at the age of 28. Beethoven was living in Vienna at the time, and had already made his debut on the performance scene in the city three years earlier. He had also published his first compositions with the patronage of Prince Lichnowsky (Three Piano Trios, Op. 1) which had met with financial success.
This sonata is dedicated to Countess Anne Margarete von Browne, the wife of Count Johann Georg von Browne. The Count and Countess had settled in Vienna in 1795, with the Countess (herself a pianist) supporting Beethoven in his work.
This sonata is comprised of three movements
I. Allegro
II. Menuetto. Allegretto
III. Presto
