This is one of my favorite videos. In 2015 when we started on our new adventure, we ended up boondocking at the Alabama Hills, CA. A few rookie mistakes were made back then. No shovel to dig our rig out (see the vid. at 38 sec.) The breakaway switch became unplugged therefore locking the brakes on the rig. Took a while to figure it out what was wrong, finally we unhooked the truck and that's when we noticed the problem. We think it was never plugged in correctly. Ever since I check on it whenever we hook up and ready to roll. It's a gorgeous place, we had a great time with hardly any water in our tank. I never get tired of these rock formations. Enjoy! Z.
The Alabama Hills are a formation of rounded rocks and eroded hills set between the jagged peaks of the Sierra Nevada and the geologically complex Inyo Mountains. Both geologic features were shaped by the same uplifting occurring 100 million years ago. The hills are located west of Lone Pine and are managed by the Bureau of Land Management.
