Richard Roeper and Guest Critic, Liza Schwarzbaum reviews Oh My... "Norbit" (A Very Nasty, Unfunny, Painful and Horrible comedy Eddie Murphy has ever done in his entire comedic career! Worse than "Pluto Nash", more offensive than "Harlem Nights" and more Gross-Out than any Murphy comedy out there! And it's directed by: Brian Robbins, a former cast member of "Head of the Class" who gave us "All That", "Kenan & Kel", "The Amanda Show" and theatrical films like "Good Burger", "Varsity Blues", "Ready to Rumble" and "The Perfect Score". But, he also did "The Shaggy Dog" remake prior which was just as bad! This was the first of the entire Murphy/Robbins collaboration joining with "Meet Dave" and "A Thousand Words". I hated this comedy and I weep for both of their natural talents. Sadly, this was a following to Murphy's big arousing comeback with "DreamGirls!"), "Factory Girl" (Forgettable strained 60s Style Amateurish fluff about Andy Warhol superstar, Edie Sedgwick and Roeper's lack of taste meter rises! All he cares about are performances rather than story!) "The Astronaut Farmer" (Strongly Amazing film with Billy Bob Thornton!), "Because I Said So" (Diane Keaton and Mandy Moore's misfiring mother and daughter comedy!) and "The Situation".
Thumbs Up Video: "Flags of Our Fathers", "Flicka" and "Infamous". Roeper's pick is the remarkable Martin Scorsese' Crime Thriller Based on the Hong Kong original, "Infernal Affairs" (I have the DVD Steelbook! I'll find the Blu-ray and 4K someday!) and Schwarzbaum's pick is "Hollywoodland".
Recorded on KABC ABC 7 in Los Angeles with Commercials. Found it at "UCLA Library NewsScape" website.
