Red Dawn Baked Beans
1 pound Soaked, Dried Storage Beans (Great Northern, Navy, or Pinto)
1 tsp Ground Mustard Powder
1 1/2 tsp Salt (adjust as needed for diet requirements)
1/2 tsp Black Pepper
2/3-1 cup Brown Sugar
1 tbsp Dried, Minced Onion
4-6 tbsp Bacon Bits (TVP or salad topper type)
Note: 1x 4oz container of Bacon Bits for every 2-3 pounds Dried Beans
1 tbsp BBQ Seasoning Powder
Instructions:
1) Check beans for debris such as small stones. Soak Dried Beans overnight, 10-12hours.
2) Drain Beans and place in bottom of pot.
3) Add Ground Mustard, Salt, Black Pepper, Brown Sugar, Minced Onion, Bacon Bits, and BBQ Seasoning Powder
4) Cover with water to about 1 inch over the top of the mix.
5) Cook for 8-10 hours. Check water level every 2 hours till 8 hour mark. Then as needed til they are cooked thoroughly.
