Monitoring FIP treatment for pennies
An inexpensive way of checking if your feline infectious peritonitis (FIP) treatment is on track or not is by regularly weighing your cat: once a week, or once a day. On average, a recovering cat will gain about 25g (1 ounce) of weight per day while on Mutian pills, then about half that when you stop Mutian pills and go onto 100,000 units of Virbagen Omega feline interferon by mouth. Weighing the cat does not replace the necessity for regular blood test monitoring, but can be useful for quickly detecting when there is a secondary problem, for example furball. Some people use baby scales, others use their kitchen scales.
