Does SSPX have Supplied Jurisdiction?

The SSPX has a LOT of dirty laundry. Let's discuss the Catholic Church vs SSPX's claims of supplied Jurisdiction.

In response to nonsense comments: Does the SSPX come under the anathema of the Council of Trent? Spoiler: Yes. Let us examine the relevant passages from the Council of Trent. The Council of Trent, in its Twenty-Second Session, addressed the topic of the Eucharist and the Mass. In Canon VII of this session, the Council states:

"If any one saith, that the ceremonies, vestments, and outward signs, which the Catholic Church makes use of in the celebration of Masses, are incentives to impiety, rather than offices of piety; let him be anathema."[^1]

This canon directly condemns the view that the ceremonies, vestments, and outward signs used in the Catholic Mass are "incentives to impiety." The SSPX has claimed that the reformed liturgy (referring to the liturgical reforms following the Second Vatican Council) contains "elements dangerous for the Faith."[^2] This position seems to align with the view condemned by the Council of Trent in Canon VII.

Furthermore, the Council of Trent, in its Twenty-Fifth Session, declared that the authority of the Apostolic See (the Pope) is untouched by the decrees of the Council regarding reformation of morals and ecclesiastical discipline.[^3] This suggests that the SSPX's rejection of the liturgical reforms approved by the Apostolic See would also fall under the Council's anathema.

In conclusion, based on the passages from the Council of Trent, the SSPX's claim that the reformed liturgy contains "elements dangerous for the Faith" appears to come under the anathema of the Council of Trent, Session XXII, Canon VII.
