We goes through waves of enemies and battles the first phase of Xing's headless armor. After it temporarily retreats, it comes back to incapacitate him knocking the sword out of his hands only for it to be snatched up by Hoji's Whisperer. After beating the second phase of Xing's armor, Lo Wang reaches the temple where The Goddess now known as Ameonna slumbers eternal. He is captured by Enra who tries to sacrifice Hoji to revive Ameonna by means of using the original Whisperer that Hoji made, which like the others before, can handle the Nobitsura Kage without harm, but Hoji disarms the Whisperer and hands the sword back to Lo Wang, forcing Enra to retreat. But by touching the Nobitsura Kage, Hoji dooms himself. Lo Wang corners Enra after defeating Xing's third phase and he retreats. He then comforts Hoji in his final moments and then his Whisperer allows Wang to see its memory. Hoji had an incestuous affair with Ameonna which made her happy, but her happiness stopped the rain that filled the shadow realm with life. Ameonna chose to stay by Enra's side and Hoji never forgave her for that. As punishment, Hoji would have his face carved and cut off. Before Hoji sacrificed his memory to his whisperer, he concocted an eternal sleeping potion for Xing to deliver to Ameonna. Enra allows Lo Wang to slay him, since he is the only sacrificial candidate left. Ameonna awakens, and upon seeing the dead body of Hoji, she weeps, bringing rain back to the Shadow Realm.
