Biomutant - Playthrough Part 1

Started playing Biomutant - an action RPG where you play as a rodent. You get to create your character by choosing their abilities, but it seems the backstory is already determined. There is a World Tree which the various clans in the game either want to destroy or restore and there's a karma system depending on your actions. I wonder if there's a point to make nuanced choices or it's better to simply go one way. The combat is responsive and similar to the Batman Arkham games with some third person shooter elements mixed in. You also have mutations and magical powers for both combat and traversal. The environment looks great and there's a lot of charm to the characters and world.
