Jesus founded His church, the Catholic Church, through the apostle St Peter (Matthew 16:18-19 & 1 Timothy 6:12) who, like the apostle St Paul, is historically documented to have been martyred in Rome. That's why Jesus' church has been centered in Rome since its inception. All other "churches" were breakaways from the Catholic Church, founded by man, not by Christ, & the Catholic Church of course is the only church that goes directly back to St. Peter & Christ.

Peter literally means "rock". That's why Jesus named him Peter. Our Lord built His church through Peter:
And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give to thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven. And whatsoever thou shalt bind upon earth, it shall be bound also in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose upon earth, it shall be loosed also in heaven. - Matthew 16:18-19
Without the Catholic Church, there wouldn't even be a Bible & no one today would know about Christ. All the early church fathers who walked & learned with the Apostles believed in traditional Catholic teaching, i.e., necessity of water baptism, baptizing infants, confession to a priest, true presence of Christ in the Eucharist, etc.
And if he will not hear them: tell the church. And if he will not hear the church, let him be to thee as the heathen and publican. - Matthew 18:17
Francis & all the claimants to the Chair of St Peter since 1958 are not true popes - they are heretical antipopes according to Catholic teaching. Francis & the antipopes before him have been running a fake "church" that is masquerading as the Catholic Church, when it is actually the Vatican II apostate Whore of Babylon.
