'Sin City Berlin' offers a snapshot of the times, where “Berlin was what sexual daydreams wanted to be. You could find almost anything there, and maybe everything.”
Economic turmoil had turned the Weimar Republic into a Babylonian haven for locals- as well as foreigners with eccentric tastes, who through inflation could have anything they wanted for pennies on the dollar.
This kind of creative freedom was bittersweet, as some were indirectly forced into prostitution due to the state the economy.
The not-too-family-friendly atmosphere soon paved way for conservative reform, and through Hitler’s National Socialist Party, the liberal and open enjoyments so many had embraced was abruptly ended.
