Saving The World ? - #TeamTrees

There's nothing wrong with the #TeamTrees initiative itself. However, these types of superficial environmentalist campaigns can mis-educate the public, leading to wasted resources or even proving harmful.

This is backed up by examples where environmental concerns in British Columbia have led to the destruction of billions of trees.
While it's not mentioned in the video, billions more are to come, as the bugs adapt to the cold, and learn to eat other species of tree.

The video explores the theory that the most practical effort we can make is to collect carbon via processing plant biomass for industrial materials. It contends that environmentalist initiatives would seem to oppose these methods, as they've been doing so for decades.

The video also explores the concept of a global carbon cycle, where CO2 causes additional plant-growth. This means that simply throwing plants in to the problem doesn't significantly reduce the carbon in the carbon cycle: the plant bio-mass must be harvested to effectively reduce atmospheric CO2 levels long-term.
