The jawan who died has been identified as 23-year-old Nikhil Sharma, a resident of Sindwadi. Nikhil was admitted to the post of constable in Ladakh Scout in 2018. The soldier's health had suddenly deteriorated on the morning of 26 November. Later, he was taken to the hospital by fellow soldiers for treatment, where the doctor declared him brought dead. After this, he was brought from Leh to Chandigarh on November 27 in an army helicopter. From here, his dead body was brought by road to his home - 29 Nov 2022
