Legendary Lee Canady: Detroit City Council Testimonial Resolution honoring Lee in 2011
Perhaps the greatest of all film directors are those known as "Auteurs."
THREE AUTEUR ELEMENTS
1: Technically competent
2: Distinguishable personality
3: Distinct perspective
——————————
ME
1: (no comment)
2: I am a blue collar bloke that has read more books than you and all your friends——combined
3: I shoot manual with vintage lenses used in unusual ways in ususual places (unprecedented filmic scenes)

This video I made best summarizes Lee's life (& uses a Detroit City Council testimonial resolution to back up Lee's legend)

Lee was *allegedly* TRICKED by the City of Detroit, which left Lee PENNILESS, but then the City of Detroit HONORED Lee thirty years later for Lee's service to music and Detroit
Lee Canady is a Motown music mogul NO ONE KNOWS (but the everyone should know, because Lee led a singular, cinematic, stimulating life that was rags-to-riches-to-rags & full of soul).
HERE IS A PAST WORTH DEFENDING:
Lee Canady was born on a third-generation share-cropping farm in El Dorado, AK, where his family not only did not have a car, they lacked even a horse or mule, so they had to walk everywhere. By the time Lee was twenty-five, he was a father & on his second marriage, when he started a record store in Detroit, becoming America's first black record store owner to buy records in bulk direct from the manufacturer. This gave Lee clout in the industry. The City of Detroit cut Lee's run short & then failed to pay Lee back for a year & a half, which left Lee penniless & reliant on the charity of friends. Lee's story deserves life. 🦅🇺🇸

I say predict like Luther sinned, but what is the Gospel in this analogy?
“Be a sinner and sin boldly, but believe and rejoice in Christ even more boldly.”
― Martin Luther
My pal, Lee, MIGHT be remembered in 500 years:
