The original 45rpm single was issued on Big Hill 552 - (There’s) Always Something There To Remind Me (Burt Bacharach-Hal David) by Lou Johnson, conducted by Burt Bacharach
Though he never achieved major stardom, Johnson was the vocalist who introduced both this familiar Bacharach-David tune and their “Reach Out For Me,” plus he also recorded an early version of their “Kentucky Bluebird” (aka “Message To Michael”)…all before Dionne Warwick and others later succeeded in turning those titles into best-selling hits. Burt himself produced, arranged, and conducted this version. In 1983 the song finally achieved a top-10 ranking on the weekly U.S. record charts with the Naked Eyes hit.
