A Chicago reporter (Stewart) and his editor (Cobb) look into a decade-old murder case. At first the reporter believes the man convicted for it to be truly guilty. But as he gathers more evidence -- and changes his mind -- he is stonewalled by authorities who would rather not admit that they were wrong.
