I've been through there loads of times and not had a single encounter, but I would go out there several times a year, sometimes an overnighter, just to get some cheap wine. other 5 day breaks.
I could be in France in 3hrs from Essex where I used to live, so I did it regularly and sometimes, shit went down, which was why I got a Dashcam installed.
I also picked my travel times carefully, checked the sat-nav for road hold-ups (backed up traffic) I'd drive away from certain roundabouts I knew they lurk around. and enter the main road leading to the tunnel and passport control further away. and was prepared to run the cunts over if they tried to block me in.
It's a fucking war zone round there on occasions.
