Mattel is reportedly considering a same-sex Barbie wedding set after a couple's social media post about the dolls went viral.

Matt Jacobi and Nick Caprio, of Scottsdale, Arizona, are set to be married in May of 2019. Their two nieces will be flower girls.

When one of the girls' 8th birthday came around, Jacobi and Caprio wanted to get her something special. The couple found some Barbie wedding sets, but none of them were same-sex.

So, they decided to create their own set with two grooms, using a pair of Ken dolls.

The couple was disappointed with the lack of choices and posted their frustration on Instagram, tagging Matte

Jacobi said Mattel reached out to him Wednesday to set up a meeting with the head of the Barbie design team within the coming weeks.
