Organized Communism has long targeted black Americans, an ongoing effort which has survived the fall of the USSR.
Starting during the Depression, and throughout the Cold War, the Soviet Union tried to recruit African Americans to the Communist party. Their propaganda cited the real injustice of American segregation to denounce capitalism and racism.
The Communist Party USA funded the legal defense of nine black teens known as the “Scottsboro Boys” who were wrongly convicted of rape by an all-white jury in Alabama. Globally-minded communists wanted to recruit black Americans living in the Jim Crow South to form an all-black communist state in the South and spread the workers’ revolution across North America.
The Black Lives Matter movement (BLM) tries to portray itself as a grassroots movement, a spontaneous uprising of the oppressed in the inner city. However, it is a well-funded conglomeration of communist/socialist organizations that have been around for decades.
The reason we should remember how Marxist and Stalinist goal of communism affected ordinary people is they are being offered a choice to vote for it again. In the UK, hard-line Marxist-Leninist control the main opposition party, and from what one can see from the Eastern side of the Atlantic, various Democratic Party contenders for the presidency are offering a softer version of the same socialist creed to their supporters.
It’s taken a while, but it looks like the Communists managed to not only infiltrate, but cross off almost every one of the goals on their list that was entered into the Congressional Record in 1963. Personally, I believe we and our president have to understand and be willing to stand against communist goals.
