I made youtube-dl (specifically the fork youtube-dlc, recently renamed yt-dlp) way faster for archivists. This video shows off the performance boost. It pulls from the YouTube channel PowerfulJRE (The Joe Rogan Experience) and uses a youtube-dl archive file with over 77,000 entries. The latest youtube-dl is on the left and youtube-dlc with my performance boost modification is on the right.
