Murder By Decree is an early Jack the Ripper movie that incorporates the fictional Sherlock Holmes character while also relying on serious research, by Stephen Knight, into the Ripper murders. I read Knight's books on Freemasonry, including "Jack the Ripper: The Final Solution." I don't think anyone came closer to the full truth behind the myth of Jack The Ripper, than Stephen Knight.
