In this session, we look at life applications for dealing with discontentment. This is our ‘theme of mastery’ for the week as we continue our study on Isaiah with Torah to the Tribes.
First, we must recall, that in this fallen world our human nature can easily drift to endless discontentment in many shapes and forms. We can fail to exercise the muscle of gratitude for what we do have; and instead, exercise the muscle of covetousness & bemoaning things we don’t have.
We need to understand that feelings of discontentment are something we all experience and are not unique to just a few individuals.
We need to understand that we should take pause knowing that our ‘emotions’ associated with discontentment can either spiral us upward or downward. We recall that our emotions can greatly decrease our thinking IQ. In a highly emotional state, a person is unable to think clearly, unable to hear clearly, and has no peace which are all signs of a downward spiral.
Since our decisions determine our destinies, we do not want a quick fix; and we do not want to compromise our values which may have life-long implications. We are always in the best position when we trust and obey Yahuah and stay under His Covenant Umbrella. Shalom in Him, Libby
