Let's Play Sameth & Maximus in The Tomb of Sammun-Mak - Part 1 - The Challenge of the Sphunx
Watch here for better quality: https://youtu.be/AHFkcczS1Pw We open with the Narrator recapping the events of the last tale then we turn to Sam & Max who've just defeated General Skunkape and are now wondering why there are identical skeletons of themselves trapped underground. They find a film projector and an old film reel. They realize that what they're watching is a silent film telling the events of their great grandfathers Sammeth & Maximus and how they came across The Devil's Toybox. Max touches the film projector which turns out to be another toy of power granting astral projection forcing Sam & Max to walk in their great grandfathers' footsteps for this adventure. Sammeth & Maximus find The Devil's Toybox within the tomb of Sammun-Mak and are suddenly under fire by greedy business tycoon, Santa Claus. Maximus uses Charlie Ho-Tep, a dummy that gives the user psychic ventriloquism, to distract Santa by throwing his own voice at a nearby statue. The duo reach the exit only to forget the translation of the hieroglyphic above the door to open it and they're quickly shot. Thankfully, that's not what really happened and only the middle part of a bigger story. Let's start from the beginning. Our duo enter a theater where a mysterious man named Papierwaite is hosting a contest known as The Sphunx's Challenge. The winner gets an all expenses paid trip to Egypt to visit the tomb of Sammun-Mak. Santa is here and he got wind of the so called toys of power and as a man who has a monopoly on the business of toys, he wants in on them. The challenge features a Can O' Nuts a toy of power that only a chosen one can use. Santa tries the challenge and fails while Maximus activates the Can O' Nuts power of compression. This feat is witnessed by all including a Molewoman in the audience. Santa's elves swipe the toy and run. In town, our duo confront the elves who won't give up the can unless they can come up with a better toy idea. They also meet the Molewoman, who's family protects Sammun-Mak's tomb. She is angry that the elves are messing with a toy of power that they do not understand and they insulted her so she's casting a vampire curse on one of them. She happily translates the hieroglyph for our duo as well as offer some humor about cutting a cucumber lengthwise.
