What are we in but in? A first of many first yet to be first, I was challenged by my professor to compose a classical style string quartet for admissions to graduate school. Here are the harvested fruits of that labor, and I must say it was more difficult then I had anticipated. Writing four constant streams of vertical and horizontal harmony was a vastly different process then any of my usual methods of composition. I originally wrote the chord progression back in June of 2020, one of many to come out of that time. I have a piano version which shows a different flavor and some of the original timbres I felt when composing it.
