HYPERNORMALISATION (2016): Why Things Never Change (Adam Curtis documentary)

A film by cult documentary-maker, Adam Curtis, exploring the inability of societies to change for the better, due to the abject lack of any genuine, workable ideas by which to enact change; how the miscreants in power use this defeatist mindset of the masses to maintain the corrupt systems which keep themselves in power; and how these controlling groups have lost grip of these overly complex systems ― effectively handing power to autonomously run machines (computer algorithms).

The term "hypernormalisation" is the Anglicisation of the Soviet era, Russian word, "gipernormalizatsiya" (гипернормализация) that was coined by the anthropologist, Alexei Yurchak, from his book, "Everything was Forever, Until it was No More: The Last Soviet Generation" (2005).
