These companies own the intellectual property rights to the altered food variety, the altered seed, and the pesticides & chemical fertilisers each harvest is now dependant on, creating dominance in the marketplace whereby agribusiness aquires the land of small farms nearby to Large GE farms by way of sueing for intellectual property rights violation, even thou it's the biotech companies actions which contaminate nearby farms, and courts side with biotech.
Additionally, in poorer countries, traditional farmers who cannot afford to buy seed or chemical fertilusers yet again due to extreme expense sometimes take to committing suicide by drinking the pesticides than go into insolvency.
