Gog (the Head/Leader) Who Comes from the House of Togarma
The Magog invasion in Ezekiel 39 is the invasion of "Armageddon". Gog and his hordes will invade the land of Israel (ruled by the coming last world empire Assyria) from Turkey.
The Final Hour of the Attack
This attack, according to these scriptures, will take place at the very end, during the last hour, when he decides to come upon Israel to destroy it.
This general attack in the last hour corresponds to the 8th and final confrontation between Assyria and Egypt (Daniel 11:40).

Gog (the prince of Turkey) will fall upon Israel with all the nations of the Middle East and plunder it. Gog is the prince of Turkey and will fall upon Israel from the North with all the nations of the Middle East.
God Will Rain Hailstones (100 Pound Weight)
In Ezekiel, God also uses hailstones, and on this day God glorifies Himself among the nations and shows how He will set things right with Israel, whom He had scattered among the nations.
Ezekiel's Vision of The Rain of Hailstones
These hailstones, weighing about 100 pounds, are like great plates raining down from heaven (Ezekiel 38:22). Remember, God asked Job if he knew of the storehouses of Hail that he had for the day of disaster (Job 38:22). This Ezekiel 38 and 39 Armageddon invasion, is one and the same attack as described by Joel (Joel 2:3-12).

Ezekiel 38 and 39 Culminates in the Destruction of the Assyrians and the Return of Exiled Israel to the Land of Israel
After this event, as in many other passages, the king of Babylon/Assyria/North is destroyed, exiled Israel returns and God (Yahweh) becomes the God of His people. His Spirit is poured out on a united Israel (Ephraim and Judah) for the first time in 3000 years after King Solomon (Jeremiah 25:12-13, Isaiah 11, 19 and Jeremiah 29:10-14).
The Restoration of Israel
After this event of Gog and Magog, and the destruction of Fig and the Assyrian, the Messianic Temple is built, and the regulations for worship established, as we read in Ezekiel, chapters 40-48.

Nowhere in the Hebrew text do we find that therell be a Messianic Reign lasting only 1000 years.
