[BLIND LET'S PLAY]
The next day Neo and Keiichi go to school and for a while everything appears normal, although everything Tomitake had told Keiichi last night still weighed heavily on his and Neo's mind. But when a police detective suddenly shows up out of the blue and asks to speak to Keiichi in private, things take a very dark turn as this same detective, while questioning Keiichi about Tomitake, reveals to the young man that Tomitake had apparently died under circumstances that are as suspicious as they are horrific, although no one seems to know what exactly happened leading up to Tomitake's death.
With what Neo and Keiichi have just recently learned about the annual deaths/disappearances that have been occurring at Hinamizawa since the dismemberment of the dam foreman, and always on the evening of the Watanagashi Festival, neither are them are feeling eager to dismiss Tomitake's own gruesome death on the night of this year's Watanagashi Festival as mere coincidence, even though neither of them have much information to go on that could allow either of them to come up with a solid idea as to what Tomitake's death might have in relation to the previous deaths.
The police detective, known as Kuraudo Ooishi, asks Keiichi to stay in touch with him in case he notices anything suspicious from that point on. Needless to say, this encounter leaves Keiichi and Neo with a sense of dread as they return to the school building...
