Chapter 8 - Argentina was the key to it all. We visit the Estancia where Adolf and Eva stayed over the winter of 1945 (June, July, August, September) and I spoke with the manager about that time. Then it was my first time to the [Inalco] estate where Hitler lived from 1945 to 1955 and we see photos of San Carlos de Bariloche as it was in 1945. Not much could be more remote than that. Built by Mercedes of Argentina at the end of the war but never used for their executives. Rather, Adolf and Eva Hitler came there shortly after the end of the war and lived in this incredibly beautiful place until the 1955 bloody coup that took Perón out of power. With their protection gone, they, like all the expats from the 3rd Reich had to go into other countries or deeper into Argentina. This estate has remained vacant since then.
