One part of the immigration debate not usually talked about is the first wave of Central American migration ot the U.S, when the U.S made their countries unlivable through genocide. Mexico now unlivable due to these free-trade agreements like NAFTA. Why aren´t we allowed to talk about how Central America was prevented from being democratic through U.S terrorism? Monroe Doctrine - ``Big Stick`` ideology - The Mexican-American War - The Mexican Revolution - Coup in Chile - NAFTA - Panama Canal - Operation Just Cause and the Firebombing of Panama City. What about the U.S led wars in El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Guatemala where everything democratic was punishable by death? Why are Central America and Mexico the basket-cases they are today if not for U.S intevention?
