"An armed Chinese fighter jet appears next to an American surveillance aircraft. They fly so close to each other that the Chinese pilot is visible in a video taken from the American aircraft. The media outlet CNN is on board and filming the incident. A few minutes before the incident, a warning is heard over the aircraft radio in a Chinese voice: 'Chinese airspace is 12 nautical miles. Do not approach any closer, otherwise you will bear all responsibility.' The American pilot responds: 'I have you on my left wing, and I intend to continue heading west. I request that you do the same.' There is no response. For fifteen minutes, the Chinese fighter jet flies about 150 meters behind the American one. The incident takes place far above the South China Sea, which is the center of a territorial power struggle between China and the USA."
